Hello,
My name is Felicia Thomas & I am a mixed media artist and published children’s book author.
I am originally from Kent, but have made my home in county Kerry where I have lived for thirty two years.
In 2007 I discovered mixed media as an art form and haven’t looked back.
Having raised my family and worked in retail, I began teaching art classes in 2013.
Initially I taught children’s classes, all the while practicing and learning more about my chosen medium. This lead working with adult groups, and with people with additional needs. I have also worked with elderly people suffering from dementia.
I eventually settled on a personal style and started to sell my artwork as prints, stationery and home wares to gift shops. Currently I supply five shops in Munster & am always interested in discovering more outlets. I have exhibited at Artsource in Dublin and have sold my original art internationally.
In 2013 I had an accident in which I lost 80% use of my right (dominant) hand.
Through patience, art journaling and visualisation practises I was not only able to continue painting, (something I was told wouldn’t be possible) but found my mental health and positivity flourishing from the practise.
That led me on a path to discover as much as possible about positivity, visualisation and manifestation through art and I began to add it to my art classes.
You can book a private class for you and your friends or join one of my in person classes HERE
Here are 6 things you should know about me:
I hate cheese – with a passion.
Dogs, coffee, cake and books are some of my most favourite things.
I once learnt how to fly a single engine plane.
I read a ridiculous amount of books, but re-read my favourites often.
My favourite saying is,” A year from now you’ll wish you had started today”
It’s so true!
I am also an Independent Celebrant and you can see more about that HERE.
