I'm very excited to be recording a little of my book this week.... I loved reading to my children when they were small, but then they went and grew up!
So, I am reading this for everyone who loves to escape into an imaginary land, no matter how old they may be.
💜 if you listen whilst curled up with a blanket, a cup of tea and some cake I'm sure it will be extra special 💜
If you want to listen to it you can sign up to my newsletter ( the sign up is on the home page of my website, link in bio)
Miss Polly and the Crocodile is published by @childs.eye.lp and will be available in October.
If you are signed up to my newsletter then on Friday 17th September you can have a sneak preview of
💜 'Miss Polly and the Crocodile '💜
I will be sending out a newsletter with a short reading from my book.
All you have to do is sign up to the newsletter ( on the home page of my website - link in bio), get cosy on the couch and settle in for story time.
🍁 I absolutely love Autumn 🍁
To me it is like a new year, a fresh start as school and college start back. A chance to put routines in place.
The air is crisp and cool, it's not quite time for woolly socks and blankets, but it's coming!
🍁 No one in my house has actually gone back to school or college for quite a while, but I still think of new pencil cases and notebooks, and for some reason, dinners that involve mashed potatoes!
🍁Polly Fox is an Autumn lover too, her colours are perfect for this time of year.
I am very happy to say, my book is now available for pre-order!! ❤
"Whst s wonderful story and beautifully illustrated!
Both myself and my children thoroughly enjoyed being transported to the magical kingdom of Loopaloo. Miss Polly and the Crocodile is a real page turner - I'd highly recommend this book!"
- Becky Burke, author ' Bryony Fairview Weather Witch '.
This book is recommended for children aged 5-10 but if you love fairy stories and imaginary lands where kindness, love and magic can save the day, then this book is for you, no matter how old your inner child is!...
'Miss Polly and the Crocodile' is published by @childs.eye.lp @libripublishing
Here is a little bit about them:
📕' Child's Eye is the new home for children's literature in the Redshank imprint of Libri Publishing.
Designed to appeal to children and parents, Child's Eye publishes quirky stories with an edge that deal with a variety of subjects from a child's point of view.
📕 These stories invite the discerning reader to step into the weird and sometimes disconcerting world of children's imaginings.
📕 Childs Eye books can also address issues affecting children such as bullying, family difficulties and health and can provide the stimulus for valuable conversation.
They have been so supportive during this process ( of which I had absolutely no experience) and I am so happy to be working with them. 😊
Miss Polly and the Crocodile will be available for pre-order on my website very soon!! 🤩...
Let me introduce you to the Crocodile.
Why you might ask, is he wearing Wellington boots? Well, that is the fault of the princess who I will introduce to you next.
The poor Crocodile is very sad. He is laughed at, his feelings are hurt and he gets grumpier and more reclusive each day. Will his friends still be there when he needs help?
"Miss Polly and the Crocodile " is a story book for children (and the young at heart 😉) it is published by @libripublishing @childs.eye.lp and will be available in September....
You have no idea how long I've kept this a secret, but today I can say,
📕 "I wrote a book" !! 📕
Oh, and I illustrated it too 😊
It has been so much fun to invent and paint the characters, I will introduce them to you soon. It will be available in September but I will tell you more of that when I have a firm date.
A huge thank you to @libripublishing
@childs.eye.lp and @lorem_ipsum_zac for all of the help. Xx...
🧡 I'm thrilled to see I'm not the only one who goes straight to the 'About Me' page of a website or reads bio to know more about the person behind the post.
🧡 After my last post people wanted to know more about my journey. I started to post here but it was long - so I wrote a blog post instead.
(You can read it by clicking the link in the bio) if you're signed up to my newsletter then it has been sent to you.
🧡 This is Mabel, she and her sentiment are very much part of that story...... xx...
Hello, this is me in case you didn't know. Today I want to tell you why I paint whimsical, quirky art.
You might want to sit, it could take a while....
When I was at school and was asked what I wanted to do I always said the same thing, "I want to be a Mum". I trained and worked as a nanny, then when I was 21 (which now seems ridiculously young) I had my first daughter, my second at 24 and my son at 26.
Despite being trained and having looked after dozens of children it was still a huge learning curve. As you know, they dont come with a manual, you make your choices and sometimes they are right and sometimes not. There are things I wish I'd done differently but that is how we learn. Teenage years were a whole other level, but we survived them. I wasnt painting at that stage, the sentiments I use now are things I would say, I hope they help you too when you read them.
Anyway, the memories I have of them growing up are magical ( mostly!🙄) and that is what I put into my paintings. I hope when you look at them you feel the love, the magic, the lessons, the support and when you give them as a gift those sentiments go with them.
This image was taken by the lovely @ev_woodard we had a great chat about being empty nesters, but that is for another day....
Hello, sorry for not being here for a while, I was as sick as a parrot for a whole week 🤢
BUT, I am better, so I'm back to show you more bits that are tagged from my shop. ( Just click the pic and it will bring you to the listing)
💕 This is The Bride & Groom, this cushion makes the loveliest engagement gift. One was even used as a ring pillow for a garden wedding!
I'm so happy that we are slowly getting back to having guests at weddings again.
💕 we like to celebrate all love here so you can also order 'Mr & Mr' or 'Mrs & Mrs'.
People who are 'spirited' are told an awful lot to behave. To confirm to the rules. But I think that their spirit will stand to them, allow them to become amazing humans, full of love and life.
Polly Moon is exactly that, her sentiment says, " Stay Wild Moon Child".....
Do you know someone this would suit? I certainly do! Xx
( click the pic for details 😊)...
I don't want to bombard you with posts, so this is the last one today.....
This is Polly Pipkin. Her sentiment says, "Ask yourself everyday, What is the BEST that could happen?".
We are so quick to think of the worst outcome, I for one have made this a mantra.
If you say this and it works out, let me know! Xx
(Don't forget, tap the pic and it will bring you to my shop.)...
